Annual Conference

To further its aims, the Australasian Society for Psychophysiology (ASP) holds an Annual Conference. These meetings, which are generally of a high quality, enable the presentation and discussion of original theory and research in Psychophysiology, along with methodology, instrumentation, standards, and new directions in the field.

Conference Schedule

The 16th Australasian Psychophysiology Conference and Annual Meeting of the Australasian Society for Psychophysiology is to be hosted by the Australian National University, and will be held on the campus of the university. Following a welcome function on the evening of Friday 8 December, ASP2006 will run from the morning of Saturday December 9 to mid-day on Monday December 11.
Full details of registration, accommodation options, and abstract submissions for poster and oral sessions are available at the ASP2006 conference site.
Please note that registration forms and abstract submissions are due by November 3 2006. *NEW*

Up until now, the Annual Conference has been held at about the first or second week of December, and the venue has rotated around the centers of Psychophysiological research in the region. Because these meetings have grown to the point where numbers of attendants and travelling distance is becoming an issue, it is anticipated that, at some time in the future, the ASP Annual Conference may move from the December time slot and the timing and venue of the meeting may become associated with that of another Australasian neuroscience meeting.

Abstracts of Proceedings of Past Conferences are available online.

Prizes for best student presentations are awarded, and an Honour Roll is being maintained.

Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Society is held during the Annual Conference, and procedural guidelines for the AGM have been formulated. These complement the Rules of the Society to which the ASP is bound as an Incorporated Association under NSW Law. Minutes of the AGM are circulated only to members of the ASP, and are available at this site to members. The AGM hears reports from the incumbent office bearers of the Society, and elects new office bearers for the following year. The meeting also includes an open business discussion which encourages membership involvement in the Society and promotes responsiveness by the Society to its membership. During the year, office bearers of the Society are empowered to act in an executive capacity for the best interests of the Society.
