Australasian Society for Psychophysiology

Mission Statement

To promote the conduct and dissemination of research and scholarship in psychophysiolgy in the Australasian region.

Strategic Plan

Major Goal Strategy Responsible Initiate Target
1. To increase the number of Society members in an attempt to engage all major research teams in Australasia in the activities of the Society
  • nominate a contact person with each major institution who is responsible for recruiting members from that institution
  • encourage all students within a research team to join the Society
  • President January 1997 100 members by December 1997 and increasing each year
    2. Establish links with international bodies relevant to research in psychophysiology
  • establish an inventory of major relevant bodies
  • contact each body and explore possible links
  • Secretary September 1996 Links established with IOP and SPR by December 1997
    3. Establish and maintain a web page for the Society which can publicise its activities and membership
  • allocate funding to improve existing web page and employ a part-time person to enter information
  • President January 1996 Web page with current membership, abstracts of prevous conference and information set up by 1997 conference
    4. Establish a research scholarship tenable for one year for an honours student engaged in research in psychophyslology
  • determine the amount to be allocated and details relating to administration and selection
  • President January 1998 Scholarship established for 1998
