These Procedural Guidelines for the Australasian Society for Psychophysiology (ASP) were ratified at the Annual General Meeting held on December 9, 1996, under the auspices of the University of Tasmania in Hobart.

  1. There shall be three Office Bearers designated as President, Secretary and Treasurer who shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting of the Society.
  2. Nominations for executive positions may be forwarded to the Secretary of the Society ahead of the AGM or may be received at the AGM.
  3. Each nomination must be made and seconded by fully paid-up members of the society.
  4. Voting for the office bearers shall be by a secret ballot and the nominee obtaining a simple majority by this procedure shall be declared elected.
  5. Voting is restricted to full paid-up members of the Society and only one vote per member for each position is permitted.
  6. Office bearers shall hold office for 12 months from 1 January to 31 December in the year following their election.
  7. The Society shall consist of those members who have paid their annual registration fee in full.
  8. Proxy voting is permitted provided a letter indicating that approval has been given for proxy voting is provided by the absent member.
